Caroline - Philadelphia Tourism

Hi Anna -
Caroline from Philadelphia here. I'm not sure what you mean that Philadelphia created false personas -- we never did that for uwishunu.com! All of our bloggers are real, genuine Philadelphians, and always have been. Can we clear up this misunderstanding? Transparency has always been important to us.

Thank you,
Caroline Bean

Hi Anna:

I think you must have confused uwishunu with some other DMO blog. As former member of the uwishunu team and social media director for GPTMC during that time, I can tell you outright that there were no "false blogging personas." We were especially proud of the authenticity of the local voices who blogged there (and continue to blog there).

If you have any questions, you can reach me directly at the email below.

Thank you.

Hi Anna,

Veronica here, director of Philly's Official Tourism site, gophila.com. I just wanted to step up and confirm that uwishunu.com was and continues to be authored by real Philadelphians who unveil the hipper, lesser-known happenings in the city. If you check out uwishunu.com's About info here, http://www.uwishunu.com/about-uwishunu/ and the Author's info here: http://www.uwishunu.com/authors/ you'll see that from the get go full disclosure and providing info about our bloggers was important to us and making this clear to the public was our goal from the beginning.

Thank you,
Veronica Wentz

Ricky O'Neill

Hi Anna,

It's Ricky O'Neill here (formerly of Cognac)... I just thought I'd mention that I am working alongside Leon Benjamin and Stuart Oliver on a UGC Video campaign for a 400 year old oats company in the UK.

We are just getting started and I'd love your thoughts!

Hi Anna - Tourism Vancouver has been incorporating UGC into our marketing mix for some time now. We actively use Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, plus video and text blogging. Keep an eye out for our new website coming in June!

To my colleagues at Philadelphia - please accept my apologies for the misjudgment and appreciation for your comments. Clearly, I was misinformed regarding your first blogging activity and stand corrected. My respect and admiration for the Uwishnu initiative is sincere and steadfast and I consider and speak about you as leaders in the field of engaging visitors and residents in dialogue.

The process of on-page optimization involves tweaking of both the codes as well as the contents of the website. The contents need to have the right set of keywords. At the same time density of the keywords should be proper. Less number of keywords and search engine spiders would fail to recognize the relevance of your website. Overstuffing with keywords and your website will be flatly rejected by search engines as spam. Only an experienced SEO specialist can achieve the right balance in optimization so that your website ranks high in the result pages.
Off-page optimization on the other hand aims at increasing the quality and quantity of the outbound links. This is important because these links drive in the traffic to web pages.
In order to remain competitive, a website needs to incorporate both on on-page and off-page optimization elements.

 Internet Marketing

One of the most advantageous aspects of social media marketing is: it makes it easier for the businesses to establish a direct contact with their customers. Because it is cheaper, the small businesses with limited advertising budget can gain an exposure as big as their stronger rivals. Social media optimization helps in brand building in a way that no other internet marketing techniques can. It proves to be more effective than other online marketing methods simply because it works within the periphery of a closeer group and can penetrates at a personal level. As a result, it becomes easier for it to evoke trust and reliability for a brand.

Behavioral retargeting emerged to be an extremely viable
direct response marketing opportunity in 2008.
The Arizona Republic published an article on January 2nd,
featuring an elite retargeting technology provider, Fetchback.
Much of the article includes information on how retargeting works
and how it is successful compared to other types of advertising;
says Chad Little, CEO of Fetchback, Inc., “I’ve been in the
industry for a long time, and it’s arguably as good, if not
better, than paid search, and paid search is at the top of the
heap.”
